that they do here.

10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things,

and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel,

pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of

the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the

son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick

cloud of incense went up.

12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the

ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the

chambers of his imagery? For they say, the Lord seeth us not;

the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

13 He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see

greater abominations that they do.

14 Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house

which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping

for Tammuz.

15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man?

Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than

these.

16 And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord's house,

and, behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the

porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their

backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the

east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

17 Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it

a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations

which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence,

and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the

branch to their nose.

will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice,

yet will I not hear them.”

4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.

5 And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak;

Thus saith the Lord; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I

know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.

6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the

streets thereof with the slain.

7 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Your slain whom ye have laid

in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron:

but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.

Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you,

saith the Lord God.

9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into

the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel;

and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh

in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel:

12 And ye shall know that I am the Lord: for ye have not walked

in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done

after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.

13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son

of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a

loud voice, and said, Ah Lord God! Wilt thou make a full end of the

remnant of Israel?”

EZEKIEL 43:6-12

“And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the

man stood by me.

7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and

the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst

of the children of Israel forever, and my holy name, shall the

house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by

their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high

places.

8 In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their

post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have

even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have

committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.

9 Now let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of

their kings, far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them forever.

10 Thou son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that

they may be ashamed of their iniquities: and let them measure the

pattern.

11 And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, shew them

the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the goings out

thereof, and the comings in thereof, and all the forms thereof, and

all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws

thereof: and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole

form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.

12 This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the

whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is

the law of the house.”

MICAH 3:8

“But truly I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord, and of

judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression,

and to Israel his sin.”

MATTHEW 12:18

“Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom

my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall

shew judgment to the Gentiles.”

139.  The Holy Spirit departs the sanctuary, due to sin.

EZEKIEL 8:5-6

“Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way

toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north,

and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy

in the entry.

6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they

do? Even the great abominations that the house of Israel

committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary?

But turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.”

140.  People should not lie to the Holy Spirit.

ACTS 5:1-11

“But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a

possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it,

and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie

to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? And after it was sold,

was it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing

in thine heart? Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the

ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out,

and buried him.

7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife,

not knowing what was done, came in.

8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land

for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together

to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of them which

have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the

ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and,

carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many

as heard these things.”

141.  The Holy Spirit can become an enemy.

ISAIAH 63:10

“But they rebelled, and vexed his Holy Spirit: therefore he was

turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.”

142.  The Holy Spirit reduces.

ISAIAH 40:7

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the Spirit of

the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.”

143. The Holy Spirit departs people.

1 SAMUEL 16:14

“But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit

from the Lord troubled him.”

144. People who walk according to the Holy Spirit, will not

encounter damnation.

ROMANS 8:1

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in

Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

145. The Holy Spirit is – “The God of Invitation.”

REVELATION 22:17

“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth

say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will,

let him take the water of life freely.”

The Holy Spirit gathers the animals.

ISAIAH 34:15-16

“There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch,

and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be

gathered, everyone with her mate.

16 Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of

these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath

commanded, and his Spirit it hath gathered them.”
