2 PETER 3:18

“Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever.”

Grow in the Greek language is the word auxano. Meaning; to increase – to become greater. God loves when we grow, and become greater. Have you ever watched the Olympians? They are exceptional in their skills, aren’t they? I love watching the gymnasts, they are my favorite.

Well God is desiring that we embrace responsibility, and grow into the image of Jesus Christ. This is not a buffet choice with God. This is anticipated, expected, and commanded.

So many people have their idols, hanging on their walls. The idols I am speaking of are the “stars” in their eyes. This could be an athlete or a model, or a Hollywood character. This is wrong. Christ should be our goal. Our absolute human responsibility; is to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ.

You might be a girl, and wonder how you can achieve this one. God is not talking gender. God is speaking – character. Jesus was perfection. Jesus was on earth, and never sinned. Jesus spent time with God, and did only that which pleased the Father. God wants us in the image of Jesus.

Is this your goal? Is this your priority? If not, make a turn, make a shift, change your focus and realign your aim. Shoot high, focus on knowing Jesus; by reading the Bible, and then becoming like him.

This is the responsibility – of maturity.
